Landing Sites video documentation

This video documents a part of the Landing Sites project, inspired by the works and lives of the artist/architect duo Arakawa and Gins. The video is by Kathrine Fallmyr and Heidi Jessen. It is from a presentation of the project at Oslo National Academy of the Arts, Dec 2013, where the public experienced two different renditions of explorations of Arakawa and Gins work.

Field trip to Tokyo

Landing Sites – a further-field pursuit of new tools for choreography


From 20 – 28 October 2013 Amanda Steggell (prof.), Solveig Styve Holte, Katherine Fallmyr, Heidi Jessen (MA choreography) and Tormod Carlsen (MA directing) will travel for a week’s residency/ field trip at the Reversible Destiny Lofts in Mitaka, a suburb of Tokyo. The lofts are  built by the artists and architects Arakawa and Gins. The residency is the first of a two-part workshop for exploring the body’s capacity to co-create event-spaces with any given environment.

Speaking And Building #6 is a part of an action space series presented in the context of a black box; an exploration of choreographic thinking via diverse spoken-material forms of interaction. The presentation is related to Eva-Cecilie Richardsen’s research project ‘Exhibiting Choreography’.
