This is the portal for the practice and research of choreography at the Academy of Dance, Oslo National Academy of the Arts.

We are a small but thriving community addressing the shifting contexts of choreography today. There are currently three professors of choreography in Norway, namely Anne Grete EriksenAmanda Steggell and Per Roar Thorsnes (programme responsible).  They lead the only Masters’ programme dedicated to choreography in Norway.

Participation in the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme
Eva-Cecilie Richardsen is the first research fellow from the Academy of Dance to graduate from the Fellowship Programme with her project ‘Exhibiting Choreography‘ in April 2016.

There are three research fellows now participating in the The Norwegian Artistic Research Fellowship Programme; Brynjar Åbel Bandlien, Ingri Fiksdal and Janne-Camilla Lyster.

Amanda Steggell’s 3-year research project, ‘Amphibious Trilogies‘ was accepted into the Norwegain Artistic Research Project Programme in February 2016. She successfully recruited dance artist, Brynjar Åbel Bandlien, into the project in November 2016 – a first for the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme!
